‘A New Day’

In A New Day, I wanted to capture that peaceful, reflective moment when the sun begins to set and everything feels calm and full of possibility. I painted this piece using acrylics, building up layers of colour and texture to create a vibrant, inviting countryside scene.
In the foreground, I painted colourful flowers and shrubs bursting with life, allowing them to feel abundant and slightly wild. Nestled gently among them, I decided to include a blue summer house peeking through in the distance - partially sheltered by an oak tree on the left-hand side of the painting, its branches stretching protectively overhead.
Beyond the garden, I painted open green fields that lead the eye toward the horizon. The sunset itself is filled with soft pinks and purples, blending together to create warmth and tranquillity across the sky. I wanted the fading light to suggest both an ending and a beginning - a quiet reminder that every sunset holds the promise of a new day.
