‘The Old Hare’
Acrylic on board, 39cm x 50cm (Framed)
“The Old Hare” is an original acrylic landscape painting that captures a quiet, almost watchful moment in nature. I painted the sky in deep shades of blue and black, creating a sense of stillness and mystery that contrasts with the bold, bright yellow of the field.
In the foreground, a small hare sits low within the grass, almost camouflaged among the green. I wanted it to feel subtle and easily overlooked at first glance- like a hidden presence in the landscape- revealing itself only the longer you look.
Along the distant hedge line, I’ve included an old barn, adding a gentle sense of history and human presence to the scene without drawing attention away from the natural elements.
This piece explores contrast, quietness, and the idea that not everything in a landscape is immediately seen. It invites you to slow down, look closer, and discover what might otherwise go unnoticed.
I absolutely loved creating this painting and I can’t wait for it to find its new home.

‘Keepers Cottage’
Acrylic on board, 44cm x 36.5cm (Framed)
“Keepers Cottage” is an original acrylic painting inspired by the quiet charm of old countryside dwellings and the stories they seem to hold.
In this piece, I’ve painted a weathered stone keeper’s cottage, built from aged, textured stone and topped with a red tile roof softened by time, moss, and gentle discolouration. Above the deep, dark green door, I added a small horseshoe- an old symbol of luck and protection- hinting at the unseen lives and traditions tied to the cottage.
I love including small, intimate details, and here you’ll find a tiny black cat resting in the window, watching the world go by. A thin trail of smoke rises from the chimney, suggesting warmth within and bringing a sense of life and quiet presence to the scene.
The cottage is nestled within a vibrant, untamed garden filled with wildflowers in soft pinks, bright yellows, delicate whites, and rich purples. I wanted the garden to feel alive and abundant, almost wrapping itself around the cottage in a natural embrace.
In the background, a lush green woodland stretches upward, with sunlight filtering through the trees and casting a gentle glow across the painting. This light was important to me- it brings a sense of calm, hope, and a touch of magic to the scene.
Through “Keepers Cottage,” I wanted to capture a feeling of warmth, nostalgia, and peaceful seclusion- a place that feels both real and quietly enchanted.

"The Clearing", Original Acrylic Painting on box canvas, Original Art by Kay Stone Art, 60cm x 90cm
‘The Clearing’, is a large acrylic painting that draws the viewer into a vibrant woodland scene, where colour and texture create a sense of quiet wonder. At the heart of the composition is a tiny owl, small in scale yet full of presence, nestled within a luminous clearing. Surrounded by layered foliage and expressive brushstrokes, the owl feels both protected and curious, as if caught in a fleeting, magical moment.
I painted this original piece in December 2022. The Clearing explores themes of stillness, vulnerability, and belonging—celebrating the beauty of small creatures within vast, living landscapes.

‘Little Jenny Wren’
Acrylic on board, 49cm x 39cm (Framed)
I have always loved wrens. For such a tiny bird, they seem to carry an enormous personality, full of life, curiosity and quiet confidence. There is something so uplifting about seeing one appear in the garden, tail tilted proudly upwards, as if the world belongs to it. Little Jenny Wren was inspired by that feeling - a small but joyful presence in nature.
In this painting, I imagined the little wren nestled among delicate poppy flowers. Rather than the traditional red, I chose soft white petals with a rich purple centre, adding the gentlest touches of pink to bring warmth and subtle depth to the flowers. I wanted them to feel light, almost glowing, like delicate blooms catching the morning light.
To make the flowers and the tiny wren stand out, I painted the distant background in a warm orange tone. The colour creates a beautiful contrast with the pale petals, allowing them to really come to life while bringing a sense of warmth and energy to the whole piece.
Working in acrylics allowed me to slowly build layers of colour and texture, carefully shaping the softness of the poppy petals and the fine detail of the wren’s feathers. For me, this painting is about those small, peaceful moments in nature that often pass us by - a tiny bird among flowers, full of life, colour and quiet beauty.

‘The Garden Dovecote’
Acrylic on board, 44cm x 36.5cm (Framed)
In this acrylic painting on board, I wanted to capture the feeling of walking through a peaceful spring garden just as everything is coming into bloom. A soft grassy path leads the eye gently through the painting, guiding you deeper into the garden and towards the old dovecote standing quietly at the back left of the scene.
I painted the garden full of lively spring flowers, using purples, pinks and warm oranges to bring a sense of colour, movement and life to the landscape. I balanced these brighter tones with fresh greens in the surrounding shrubs and foliage to give the garden a natural softness and depth.
The dovecote became an important focal point for me. I love the charm of these traditional garden buildings, and I wanted it to feel full of life. One small dove peeks curiously from one of the openings, while two others circle together in the clear blue sky above, adding a sense of movement and quiet companionship to the scene.
I chose acrylic on board because it allowed me to build up layers of colour and texture while keeping the painting vibrant and fresh. The piece is presented in a white frame, which complements the lightness of the spring colours and helps the garden feel bright and open.
With The Garden Dovecote, I hoped to create a calm and uplifting moment in nature - a place where the viewer can pause, wander down the path, and enjoy the colours and gentle life of a spring garden.

A peaceful English countryside lane, framed by soft hedgerows and mature trees, is the subject of this original acrylic painting. "Life's Treasures", Acrylic Painting on board, Original Acrylic Painting on board, Original Artwork by Kay Stone Artwork, 27cm x 36cm , Framed.
In Life’s Treasures, I wanted to celebrate the simple, precious moments we find in nature. In this small acrylic painting, I captured the vibrant beauty of a wild blackberry hedge. I painted the leaves in rich, layered greens and dotted them with soft pink blossoms to celebrate that wonderful moment when the hedgerows are full of life.
I chose a warm orange background so the fresh greens of the blackberry bush would really stand out and glow. The colour contrast brings a sense of warmth and late-summer sunshine to the piece.
I was inspired to include two red admiral butterflies resting among the leaves - one perched on the right with its wings fully open, proudly displaying its vivid markings, and the other close by with its wings slightly raised so you can see the delicate underside. I love capturing these quiet, fleeting moments in nature.
This piece is framed and ready to hang.

"Summer Swallows", Original Acrylic Painting on canvas, Original Art by Kay Stone Art, 24” x 30”.
This original acrylic painting captures the fleeting joy of a swallow in motion, swooping low through a vibrant meadow bursting with colour. Rich yellows, fresh greens, and warm notes of pink and orange create a vibrant landscape that feels alive with summer warmth and movement. Above, a clear blue sky with soft white clouds offers a gentle contrast, allowing the eye to return again and again to the energy of the meadow below.
The swallow—graceful, swift, and free—cuts through the scene as a symbol of hope, freedom, and the changing seasons. Its movement brings a sense of life and spontaneity, as though the viewer has caught a single, perfect moment in time.
Swallows have long been a subject I have wanted to paint, drawn to their elegance and the effortless way they move through the landscape. This piece was inspired by that long-held wish, and by the feeling of freedom they embody as they skim across open meadows in summer.
Painted in acrylics, this is a one-of-a-kind artwork that celebrates colour, motion, and my enduring fascination with the natural world. An uplifting piece designed to bring warmth, energy, and a sense of joy into any space.

‘A New Day’
Acrylic on canvas, 44cm x 37cm (Framed)
In A New Day, I wanted to capture that peaceful, reflective moment when the sun begins to rise and everything feels calm and full of possibility. I painted this piece using acrylics, building up layers of colour and texture to create a vibrant, inviting countryside scene.
In the foreground, I painted colourful flowers and shrubs bursting with life, allowing them to feel abundant and slightly wild. Nestled gently among them, I decided to include a blue summer house peeking through in the distance - partially sheltered by an walnut tree on the left-hand side of the painting, its branches stretching protectively overhead.
Beyond the garden, I painted open green fields that lead the eye toward the horizon. The sunrise itself is filled with soft pinks and purples, blending together to create warmth and tranquillity across the sky. I wanted the fading light to suggest both an ending and a beginning - a quiet reminder that every sunrise holds the promise of a new day.
This original 44cm x 37cm framed painting is a celebration of colour, calm, and countryside beauty, and I hope it brings a sense of warmth and serenity into your home.

"Broken Silence", Acrylic Painting on canvas, Original Acrylic Painting on canvas, Original Artwork by Kay Stone Artwork, 18” x 24”.
‘Broken Silence’ is an original acrylic landscape painting inspired by the quiet drama of the English countryside. I painted dark, brooding storm clouds stretching across the sky, their deep blacks contrasting sharply with the vivid green of the open field below. The approaching storm creates a sense of tension and stillness, as though the land itself is holding its breath.
At the heart of the painting stands a solitary deer, paused mid-movement and looking back over its shoulder. This moment of awareness - calm yet alert - breaks the silence of the landscape and draws the viewer into the scene. The deer becomes both witness and symbol: a presence of grace, vulnerability, and quiet strength within an unsettled environment.
Deer have always held a special place in my work and my heart. I’m endlessly drawn to their beauty in the wild — the way they move through their natural habitat with elegance and sensitivity, deeply connected to the land around them. In Broken Silence, the deer represents that fragile balance between nature’s serenity and its unpredictability, capturing a fleeting moment of connection before the storm arrives.
I loved painting this piece, painting my love of the countryside and nature. I can’t wait for this painting to find it’s forever home.

"The Secrets We Keep", Acrylic Painting on board, Original Acrylic Painting on board, Original Artwork by Kay Stone Artwork, 44cm x 36.5cm, Framed.
‘The Secrets We Keep’ is the second piece in my ongoing collection, continuing a visual story rooted in quiet beauty and hidden narratives. This original acrylic painting captures a colourful, overgrown grassy flower garden in full bloom, alive with movement and texture. Nestled quietly at the back left of the composition stands a blue shed - partially concealed, yet present - hinting at untold stories and moments held within.
I painted this piece using a palette knife, building the flowers and wild overgrowth through layered, expressive strokes. The textured application gives the garden a tactile richness, allowing light and shadow to dance across the surface and bringing depth and energy to the scene.
The Secrets We Keep explores the idea that even the most vibrant spaces hold hidden corners - memories, emotions, and stories tucked just out of sight - waiting to be discovered.
